The Society offers small grants to assist with the organisation of events (e.g. conferences, workshops, seminars) in the field of Byzantine studies.
Recipients are expected to submit a short report on the use of the grant and its contribution to Byzantine studies within one month of the event. Reports may be published on the SPBS website and/or in the BBBS. The SPBS reserves the right to edit reports for brevity or presentation.
Conferences, workshops, day-schools and seminars (in person and hybrid)
Grants are available for one-off in-person events.
Funding is available up to £500.
Grants are also available for virtual conferences, workshops, day schools, and seminars
Funding is available for up to £250.
Application deadlines 1 April and 1 November
Summer Schools
The Society will support attendance at one Summer School in the field of Byzantine Studies, either in person or virtually.
