Choral music to celebrate The Hellenic Institute’s 25th anniversary, in memory of Julian Chrysostomides (1928-2008)

You are cordially invited to the premiere of the specially commissioned choral work Odyssey, composed by leading choral composer and RHUL alumna Lydia Kakabadse. The lyrics are a synthesis of selected Greek poetry from Homer and the Classical period, through Hellenistic and Roman times, to Byzantium, post-Byzantium and Modern Hellenism. Odyssey will be premiered by The Choir of Royal Holloway under Rupert Gough, Director of Choral Music and College Organist at Royal Holloway. The Choir will be accompanied by harpist and fellow RHUL alumna, Cecily Beer.
A musical journey through centuries of Greek history, literature and culture to mark the closing of The Hellenic Institute’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

CD’s of Lydia Kakabadse’s works will be on sale before and after the concert. Proceeds will go to The Hellenic Institute, Royal Holloway, University of London.
